Children’s Rights and Gender Equality Workshops from Bilgi University at the Children’s Biennial

At the 4th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial, held from 19 April to 23 May, Istanbul Bilgi University will run a series of workshops for children at Antrepo 1, repeated on different dates.

Creativity Workshops with Edding by Gazi Selçuk at the Children’s Biennial

At the 4th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial, held from 19 April to 23 May, the Biennial’s founder, artist Gazi Selçuk, will run a workshop titled “Creativity Workshops with Edding” at the Mustafa Kemal Cultural Centre (MKM) Beşiktaş Çağdaş Art Gallery.

‘Smart Paintings’ with Autistic Children by Genco Gülan at the Children’s Biennial

At the 4th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial, held from 19 April to 23 May, artist Genco Gülan will run a workshop titled “Smart Paintings” with autistic children at Antrepo 1. Starting from the fact that there is no single kind of intelligence, the workshop aims to bring out the creative intelligence of autistic children and to reach a multi-layered level of intelligence.

Press Release

The 4th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial is taking place from 19 April to 23 May. Having set itself the mission of “creating the right climate for raising creative new generations”, the Biennial carries out its work in partnership with, and with the support of, public institutions and bodies, local governments, universities and nearly 40 NGOs respected in their fields.

4th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial Begins

Organised under the concept “Wake-up Call: Good Morning”, the 4th Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial will bring 450 visual art projects by children and young people to the people of Istanbul until Monday 23 May. With international participants also taking part, the Biennial offers a rich programme of panels, conferences, workshops, talks, music, dance and poetry readings.

Turkey Needs Creative New Generations

Gazi Selçuk, Director of the Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial, says that many problems in Turkey stem from individuals not making enough use of their creative potential. He stresses that the new generation developing high technology today is changing the world, and that children and young people must be supported so that this development can take place in Turkey too.

3rd Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial Touched Thousands of People

The 3rd Istanbul Children and Youth Art Biennial, which began on 15 May 2014 under the theme “Small Is Good”, hosted the participation of around 10,000 children and hundreds of events. Spread across many parts of Istanbul over the course of a month, its arts and culture events reached audiences from almost every section of society.
